Vikings Run New Jersey Record, No. 8 All-Time 10:01.75 At The Armory

Union Catholic NJ delivered an indication that it is targeting the national high school indoor record in the Distance Medley Relay with a sensational first crack at it Monday at the Varsity Classic at The Armory in New York. 

With Shane Brosnan anchoring in 4:07.5, and lineup that included Caudell Cajuste, Myles Plummer and Nick Givan, the Vikings ran 10:01.75. 

Behind them, Ridge NJ ran pretty well too with 10:14.82, with Jackson Barna anchoring in 4:15.

Union Catholic might not be the only school with the national record (Loudoun Valley VA's 9:54.41 from 2019) in its sights. But with a clear US#1 in the books, UC seems poised to make a run at it with more competition. 

Prior to the Varsity Classic, Central Catholic OR (Stark Street) had run 10:15.35 in Seattle and had the US#1.

Also at The Armory Monday, Eastbay Cross Country finalist Karrie Baloga ran US#4 10.29.15 for 3,200 meters. 

Ridgewood NJ ran a US#4 time of 12:23.76 to win the girls Distance Medley Relay. 

Julia Jackson from Scotch Plains-Fanwood NJ ran US#4 54.92 to win the girls 400.
